Weight Boxers compete against someone in their own weight class. From 1 January 2003, the number of senior male weight divisions changed from 12 to 11, to comply with International Olympic Committee requirements for the 2004 Olympics. In Australia, the following weight divisions apply: (a)
Males aged 17 and over
The
weight divisions used within (b)
Females aged 17 and over
The weight divisions used within Australia for Females who are 17 years of age and above shall be as per international rules for females, being 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 57, 60, 63, 66, 70, 75, 80, & 86 kilograms. (c)
Males and females aged 10 to 16 inclusive
The
weight divisions within Australia for male & female boxers aged 10 to 16
inclusive shall be 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, and 44 kilograms,
thence as per international rules for cadets, being 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 57, 60,
